Sew Doggy Style

For anyone that knows me, knows that I love love love putting things of my dogs, weather that is a bandana, bow ties, sweaters, new collars, like literally everything. I think the issue is that I just really need a child to dress up. I keep telling my boyfriend the longer I don't have a ring on my finger and a baby in the stroller the more dogs I am going to get and the more crazy about them I will become. He didn't seem phased by this threat. SO that brings us to me still looking and discovering new and amazing companies that are just as crazy as I am about my pups! My newest obsession is Sew Doggy Styles! Literally the cutest stuff I have probably ever seen anywhere! They have everything for the crazy dog lady inside of all of us! My favorites are the oversized bows and BARKday hats and the matching scarfs for human and pup!!! This company was started by obviously a bad ass dog mom and we asked her some questions on how she got started, her story and so much more! See her answers below!

How did you get started?

I started in 2010 shortly after I adopted my current dog, Sebastian. I began making things for him, which evolved into a shop of items I could make for others.

What is your and your fur-babies story?

Sebastian is my dog, a mini american eskimo mix, and my true inspiration! I rescued him in 2009 as a Christmas gift to myself and we are about to celebrate 8 years together this Christmas (and 7 years in the dog biz, wow!). We do everything together, including photo shoots, product-testing, and keeping each other company in the sewing studio.

What is your inspiration?

I would say Sebastian is the main influence. He has turned me into an "exceptional" dog mom and I love being a part of the dog community both locally and on social media. For a good 5 years, I had a DIY blog sharing fun tutorials for pet projects. But I put that on hold as my business has grown so much in the last few years! And the more it grows, the more I'm inspired to keep it up. Nothing like seeing your own products spreading joy to others around the world. And my favorite thing is being a part of so many dog birthdays. It wasn't nearly as popular back in 2010 as it is today to celebrate your dog's birthday with a party, dog cake, and a birthday hat! There's nothing I'd rather be doing.

If you are anything like me, please do yourself a huge favor and check out this amazing dog mom who is taking over Etsy one order at a time!
