Dog- Themed Baby Nursery

I always knew that when the time came and I had a human baby of my own, his or her nursery would be full-on dog obsessed. So when I found out I was pregnant exactly one month after my dream wedding, my dog mom's wheels started turning. I probably spent hundreds of hours looking up inspiration for dog-themed nurseries, and there was NOTHING out there. So I had to take matters into my own hands.

I knew that I wanted my dogs involved in the room as much as possible, and once I found out we were having a little girl, I wanted it to be as girly and chic as possible while still fully themed around our love for dogs.

Living in New York City and having 3 dogs can bring a lot of germs into the apartment, so we wanted to ensure that we were doing all we could with as much non-toxic things in her room as we could get. All the furniture is Greengraud gold certified, and all the linens, her bedding, rug, baskets, and curtains are all organic. With that being said, not everything is organic or non-toxic, but the goal was to make sure at least 75% of the room was, and the big ticket items were.

We went with the Stokke Crib, this is an excellent option for NYC moms; it goes from a mini crib to a full-sized crib to a toddler bed!

One of my favorite things about this room is the pink Dalmatian wallpaper! It is also a non-toxic peel and stick from Spoonflower. They have no joke 1000s of options of dog wallpaper, we ordered about 20 different samples, but this is the one that felt right!

This custom mobile of our dogs + Kanye is a dream come true. I found it on Etsy from a lovely lady in the Ukraine. I had to send her a few photos of each pup and she had it to me in less than 2 months! I could not recommenced this more if you are looking to have a personal touch of your fur-babies.

Yes, I know… we are missing a door knob… waiting on our super to get that to us… IYKYK. This wall makes me so happy! It has all of my pup's highlights (again) and then a little bit of the baby’s namesake on the other side of the closet door.

As mentioned before, all the furniture in the room is Greenguard Gold Certified; you can read more about what that is and why it is important here! This dresser is from Babyletto and fits SO much! The drawers are deeper than I thought, and I have it organized by newborn- 3 months, 3 months to 6 months, and then the bottom is everything bigger than 6 months. The changing table topper is also from Babyletto and comes with the dresser. We got the changing pad (also GGGC) here with the pink organic cover from ADEN + ANAIS.

These custom pup photos are something that we have had for a while now, and we just moved them into the baby’s room. They are from West & Willow

And the bow rack!!! I am obsessed with it; it was so easy to assemble. I highly recommend this to all-girl moms! It also comes with two, so you have room to grow!

I found all 3 of these prints on Etsy, and to say I am obsessed is a huge understatement! First, our new little girl's name is Rome Elizabeth, which is where these come in. My husband is Italian, and his family comes from the Rome area I am 98% from greater London via Texas (according to 23andme), so that is where her name comes from!

Queen Print 2

Queen Elizabeth is my all-time favorite person ever to live (well, besides T. Swift), and her love for dogs is unmatched, so when I came across these two unique prints, I knew they had to be in the room.

The middle print is a snapshot of Rome, our favorite place on Earth. You can customize the restaurant's name in print, we plan on calling her Romy, so we named the little cafe, and I am obsessed!

Living in New York City leaves you very little room from well anything. I had to take the closet in this room for some of my clothes, so we had to be creative about where little Romy’s clothes would go. I used to be in the fashion industry so I really really really like clothes and I love to look at them too, so I knew that I did not just want to put them in dresses hiding away. We looked everywhere for racks to hang, and this one just spoke to us! I love that it is gold and love the industrial look it has. We found it on Amazon here

We wanted baskets to be organic, and everyone kept telling us about Pehr. They are a bit pricing, but they have great sales, which is when I hit them up and got 5 for the price of 3!

I try to make things not look too cluttered as we live in an apartment which is why I love these acrylic storage units for her pacifiers; I also use these in my bathroom for makeup storage…lifesaver!

This dresser is also from Babyletto!

Rumba is very concerned about all these changes… sometimes I will just find her in here just sitting, looking around. Makes my heart happy.

I love this little nook of the room. The glider is from Babyletto and SO comfortable; I was very nervous about ordering this, to be honest, because I didn’t get to sit in it, but it had great reviews, was GGGC, and was well-pink velvet. So we took a change, and I am so glad we did!

The rug is also from Pehr, also got it on sale! The curtains are blackout and noise canceling (NYC MUST) from Pottery Barn, and this cute little side table I found on Wayfair; I loved that there was a bin at the bottom for all her stuffies!

This little wooden gym is so cute and very chic, IMO, and goes great with this little dog tummy time mat from Pottery Barn Kids. Both of these things were on our registry, and I am so grateful for our friends who gifted them!

If you haven't been able to tell yet… we have a theme over here! Dogs, dogs, and more dogs! So her book collection (well, what is displayed) is all dog books! Including our book about Rumba called Rescing Rumba! You can see all the books we got here

Our bookshelves are from Amazon and were so easy to put up, I love the way they turned out as well!
