Libera Animal Welfare

Efforts aimed at creating an Animal Welfare and Conservation Society in Liberia started in 2000. The campaign methodology to address the stray dog situation consisted of outreach visits to a number of pet owners and residents in Monrovia and other parts of Liberia. These efforts also included educating locals about the importance of saving their country’s wildlife and forests. With these efforts set into motion, Liberia Animal Welfare and Conservation Society (LACWS) was established in late 2001. It is now the only local animal welfare organization in the Republic of Liberia. Liberia doesn’t have a veterinary school. They are empowering animal science students and instructors of Lofa County Community College & Cuttington University in animal welfare and health programs through theoretical and regular hands-on field practice. The program builds the capacity of the students in animal welfare and basic veterinary skills and knowledge.

Pilots To The Rescue

According to the ASPCA, each year approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs & 860,000 cats). This is UNACCEPTABLE. With your help, we CAN reduce these statistics and spread awareness. Pilots To The Rescue (PTTR) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven, 501c3 public benefit aviation organization. PTTR’s mission is to transport animals and people at risk. PTTR supports its network of trained volunteer pilots so they can focus on their missions and do the greater good.

Michael Schneider & Brian Orter embarked on their first mission to rescue a litter of abandoned “ditch” puppies, from North Carolina that were slated to be euthanized. This rescue delivered 10 dogs to be adopted by loving homes. Less than a year later, Michael’s dream combining his love of aviation and rescuing animals turned into a reality. In less than 48 hours, Michael enrolled those closest to him and raised more than $10,000 in startup funds for Pilots To The Rescue.

Collar Rojos

Collares Rojos is a non‑profit organization created by a group of friends in September 2010. We are located in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic. With the help and donations from a lot of people and our partners, we were able to build a shelter for the many animals that we rescue from the streets or from the bad conditions they live in their "owner's" houses.

BCSAVES

Border Collie Save and Rescue, Inc. is an all‑volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable dog rescue dedicated to helping border collies throughout Central and North Texas. Their actions revolve around rescuing, rehabbing, and re‑homing border collies. This includes taking in border collies and border collie mixes who are in toxic and/or desperate situations.

The Street Dog Project

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs. The project began when vulnerable, homeless pets in the Dallas area, truly needed us the most. Our goal is to reduce the street dog population through rescue, placement and outreach.

The Dove Project

DoVE Project (Dogs of Violence Exposed) is a non‑profit organization focused on ending the dog meat trade in South Korea, where raising dogs for human consumption is legally sanctioned. We believe that this change ultimately must come from within. To that end, rescue efforts, education, and advocacy are the driving components of DoVE Project.

Hearts and Bones

Hearts & Bones Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Dallas, Texas and New York. Our mission is to build a nationwide network of fosters, volunteers, rescue partners and adopters in an effort to save the lives of thousands of shelter dogs in need and unite them with loving forever families. As a foster-based rescue, we focus on providing all of our dogs with secure and loving foster homes while they wait for their forever families.

Foster Dogs

Foster Dogs, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects rescue organizations, adopters, fosters, and other partners together in our shared mission to help animals in need. Beagle Freedom Project

Beagle Freedom Project is a non‑profit animal rescue and advocacy organization and the world’s leading organization for rescuing and rehoming animals used in experimental research. BFP is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals used in testing and research and subjected to other forms of unique cruelty, abuse and neglect. BFP strives to end this cruelty through its educational programs, campaign initiatives and lobbying efforts to make the world a better, safer and healthier place for both animals and people alike.

Second Chance Rescue

Second Chance Rescue NYC’s mission is to reduce animal overpopulation in shelters, rescue and rehabilitate critically injured and neglected animals, and connect the community to services that enable animals to remain in their homes. Utilizing an integrated approach to rescue and recovery, we leverage all possible paths to healing according to each pet’s specific needs and do our best every day to raise awareness surrounding animal equality, adoption education, and animal rights and welfare. We are just ordinary people taking extraordinary measures to save these treasured pets and in return, having our lives forever changed by each and every one of these amazing animals.

Sasha’s Shelter

Over the past 10 years, Sasha Pesic has saved over 1100 dogs around the city of Nis, Serbia. The majority of the dogs were rescued from cruel conditions, they were abused and on the verge of death. Over 400 dogs have been happily adopted and are enjoying their new lives ‑ full of love, safety and joy. The rest of Sasha’s 750 dog pack is, however, still in two improvised shelters in Nis, left to be managed solely by Sasha’s unconditional love for these creatures. He knows every dog by name, gives them over 8 hours of outdoor time a day, and has dedicated his life to keeping every dog happy, healthy, and alive.

Marley’s Mutts

Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of shelter animals across Kern County, California.  With shelters overcrowded year after year, euthanasia is often the only solution this county has to control the population. Lost and abandoned dogs need all of us to save them from death. This organization is making a positive and lasting impact on communities by rehabilitating souls and creating second chances using the power of the human/animal bond. They offer resources for training, rehoming and networking.

Potcake Puppy Place

Potcake Place was started with the mission of reducing the number of homeless potcakes on the island. We still hope that we can work with the government and local community to do so, but it is a continuing challenge. Until we achieve this goal, Potcake Place will continue to rescue and home potcake pups found on the island.

The Sato Project

The Sato Project primarily works in the municipality of Yabucoa, on the southeastern coast of the island, which has been rated the poorest of all 78 Puerto Rican municipalities. The median household income is well below the national average and over half of its population lives below the Federal poverty line.

BC Rescue and Rehab

We are a network of volunteer foster homes, which means all dogs adopted through us come from loving, caring homes straight to you. Since we don’t use a holding facility, our dogs come to their new homes calm, relaxed, and ready for a new life, rather than being nervous and traumatized from the noise and chaos of a shelter. We evaluate, rescue and rehabilitate abandoned Border Collies, as well as other herding breeds, and find homes that will love and cherish them forever.

Animal Aid Unlimited

Our mission is to rescue and treat owner‑less street animals of Udaipur who have become ill or injured, and through their rescue inspire the community to care for the lives of all animals.

Too Many Puppies

Too Many Puppies is a stray‑prevention program for Southern Italy, launched by our association in 2019.
Through a network of trusted volunteers – structured in an association or operating on a personal basis – we finance all those activities that have an impact on the number of stray animals on the streets and in shelters (kennels and catteries).
